Dr. Chowdhury

Welcome to Cardiology Care for Children. We are happy to offer you excellent care that is customized for each patient. Dr. Devyani Chowdhury opened this clinic to serve the Greater Lancaster County by providing personalized care that combines present day knowledge with almost 20 years of experience in New York and Pennsylvania. In 1994, Dr. Chowdhury completed her Pediatric residency and was appointed Chief Resident at North Shore University Hospital/Cornell University Program in Manhasset, NY. She then joined the three-year Fellowship Program in Pediatric Cardiology at the North Shore University Hospital/New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Chowdhury is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology.

She is also a council member on ACPC (Adult Congenital Pediatric Cardiology). She earned the rank of Assistant Professor at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine, Bronx, NY and from 2007 to 2011 Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Penn State Children’s Hospital in Hershey, PA. She is also a member on the ACPC (Adult Congenital & Pediatric Cardiology) council of the ACC (American College of Cardiology) and a member of the publications committee of the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics). During these years, she has served on the Medical Boards of Variety Children’s Lifeline and Variety International Children’s Foundation, organizations committed to improving the medical care of children. In addition, Dr. Chowdhury’s research interests are reflective of the needs of our pediatric population. They include, but are not limited to, understanding the phenotypic manifestations and treatment of genetic cardiovascular disorders prevalent among regional Amish and Mennonite (Plain) populations, such as syndromic congenital heart disease (e.g. Ellis-van Creveld and Weill-Marchesani syndromes), genetic cardiomyopathies (e.g. SLC25A4, LMNA, DSP), hereditary arrhythmias (e.g. junctional ectopic tachycardia, long QT syndrome), and familial hyperlipidemia (e.g. APOB). Training and experience have equipped Dr. Chowdhury to meet the challenges of pediatric cardiac anomalies and disease. Patients are the most important part of Cardiology Care for Children. The passion for improving the health and lives of children and their families forms the backbone of this office. “We are blessed to be able to bring the best quality of care with access to state of the art facilities as needed”, says Dr. Chowdhury.

Dr. Chowdhury and the dedicated staff of Cardiology Care for Children open their doors to all and invite you to share your child’s needs with us.
